Clean Cube Medical System

The Synergy Clean Cube Medical System is a fully integrated, modular operating room (OR).  The system includes all of the finished enclosure of the clinical space as well as all overhead HVAC, lighting, low voltage and med-gas components.  Wall and floor finishes are included as part of the system, as are doors, electronic displays, audiovisual elements and controls.

Engineering, pre-construction, permitting and coordination services are included with each deployment.  Synergy typically will demarcate a scope hand off at the corridor wall and provide the contracting team a turnkey solution for the operating room during the construction phase.  Synergy provides engineered, stamped drawings for permit submittal as well as all Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) support needed during the planning and construction phases.

The system is highly prefabricated and is designed to accelerate speed to service by reducing on site construction time to the greatest extent possible.   The core of the ceiling system, the Nest module, carries most of the major mechanical, electrical, med gas, structural and low voltage systems and is typically delivered as two prefabricated sections which are connected together and hoisted into position shortly after arriving on site.  Wall panels including multi-trade scope are also installed in prefabricated sections. Once the initial installation process of the nest is complete, hoisting crews are demobilized and a smaller wall and finish install crew completes the work.

Clean Cube has been been optimized for the long term flexibility for the operator.  A continuous structural raceway allows the clinical operator to relocate the position of surgical booms as needs and clinical practices evolve.  A centrally located modular steel plenum provides air at the center of the nest and plenum sub modules. These submodules can be removed and plugged back into the center when the surgical boom is relocated, greatly reducing expensive surgical down time during a renovation.

Boom locations can be reconfigured by the operator as needs evolve

The Synergy Clean Cube comes with a range of features that can be adjusted or toggled on or off as customer needs dictate. The planning effort begins with a Site Adapt process that brings the standardized kit of parts into alignment with the hospital customers criteria. Some of the available options and features include:

  • An array of wall finishes including glass, graphic, stainless, solid surface, pvc, or polymer surfaces

  • Hospital Operating Room Air Curtain (HORD)

  • Resinous or Sheet Flooring

  • Automated decontamination

  • Hands-free swinging or sliding doors, with air seal options

  • Full compatibility with all boom manufacturers

  • SmartCube IOT system

The prefabricated system is particularly ideal for operators needing to convert or open OR shells quickly, with minimal disruption and single source procurement. The procurement model also offers larger systems a more consistent buildout and a higher level of schedule and cost certainty in a volatile market.
